November 10th. Colonel Landry comes to Middletown to hold meetings with virtually all of the elected officials representing our city. He tells them nothing about the Army's site selection process. November 5th. The Army reveals that they will return to Middletown on Monday, November 10th, but without any ranking of the possible army base sites, coverage in The Middletown Eye.
October 6th, the Common Council considers a resolution supporting Cucia Park for the Army, and opposing Boardman Lane and the Bysiewicz property. The resolution passes, with an amendment to require that some of the money from the sale of Cucia Park be used to purchase open space. The Middletown Eye

August 14th. The Middletown Eye reports that the Army Corps of Engineers will return to Middletown for a meeting on August 19th, in Council Chambers. Colonel Landry, the Commander of the Louisville Division will be present to address the process and project of the Boardman Lane Training Facility.
August 11th. A Middletown Eye commentary calls on the Army to "Cast reserve to the wind", and site the training facility outside of Middletown.
August 6th. The Hartford Courant says, "Corps ought to listen". The first sentence: "Community opposition is only getting stronger to the Army Corps of Engineers' selection of Boardman Lane in Middletown as the site of a regional training facility."

August 3rd. "Summatorial" in the Middletown Eye, by a Westfield Resident. The author, who served in uniform for 12 years, suggests that the Connecticut Compromise of 1787 ought to inspire all interested parties to work together to build an outstanding facility for the army.

July 15. A farm that has been continuously operated as a farm since at least 1748, will be destroyed by the military base (Middletown Press, Middletown Eye). The Middletown Eye had the best quote so far, about the donkeys on the farm: "... if these asses can prevent other asses from building an Army Reserve Training Center that townspeople don't want, then I'll be the first to kiss those asses."
